John Final Workshop

These are the drawing I created using different medium such as markers, pencil, pastels, graphite and charcoal. My images didn't come out as well as I'd hoped because of how light I used pencil and the flash didn't help.
John set up different compositions for us to draw despite him not being in we still went on with the workshop spending around 50 minutes on each table.
Overall John's workshops were the most fun as we were allowed to be creative rather than sitting and listening for 4 hours straight, it was a nice break between all the listening. I hope to see more workshops like this in the future.

In this final workshop we had to create some sort of rocket or alien ship and use a variety of keyframes to make the rocket come into frame and then move out of it. Overall mine wasn't made very well because of the smoke, I found it difficult to sync them. However thinking about it I could have used parents to make it work. I drew a rocket and a moon in space using Illustrator then used a sound of a rocket flying to give it added affects. I enjoyed after effects this year, it was something new and interesting, I would like to explore in further in my own time along with other things such as Cinema 4D. Although it wasn't made very well I have still displayed a lot of skills I have picked up during the course.

Stephen Illustrator and Indesign

In this workshop we revisited Indesign and fonts to prepare for our presentation, these are two slides I created using Indesign. I will be doing a similar thing for my final document, this workshop was useful as it gave me the tools to create a well laid out presentation using two different fonts that go well together.
We also explored Illustrator and some of the the different tools and brushes we can use. We were also introduced to Adobe Capture which is a very useful tool, you can identify fonts with it on the go, create illustrations using images and create colour pallets all from your phone.
Another tool we explored was the image trace tool, I used an image of a car of Pexels and image traced it using one of the coloured options to create a quick piece of artwork. The car was Russian so I used a fitting font and the name of it to create a poster type artwork.

Sara Camera

In this workshop we were introduced to cameras, we were tasked with writing some quotes and pictures, I chose to do mine on a game called Assassins Creed, I used a variety of quotes from the main character Ezio.

These were the quotes I had written down, we had to use Photoshop to increase the threshold however I used an app to create the same effect.
After inserting all my quotes we used the camera layer which created a virtual camera, I then moved this all the way out and created a keyframe, dragged it back in and created another keyframe.

I had to use the 3d layer and had to screen the layers to remove all the white, in the end I added a paper effect background for a even bigger effect. Overall I enjoyed this and it was something different to the basic stuff we have been doing.

John

In this workshop we had to draw from 3 different areas, this first image is through a window the thick marker is the fram, it is a drawing of inside the oestler building using grey markers
This second drawing was done using pastels and charcoal of inside the creative arts building, the black figures are silhouettes of people present at the time
This is a drawing looking outside the Oaestler building from two different sides, one using fine liner and the other using pencil

This was the final one I did at the top of the balcony, I decided to draw what was in front of me rather than off the actual balcony, it includes people that were up there drawing, coats and bags etc.

Stephen Cinema4D

post its from Yousuf Mohammed on Vimeo.

In this session we explored the basics of Cinema 4D, we created two different videos a post it video where they are launched in the air and a circle spinning. My cinema4D crashed whilst rendering the second video however I have some screenshots of the process.

In cinmea4D we used an emitter to create the post it video and used different gravity effects to make the video. We also used rotations and scaling to get it to shoot up rather than sideways.
This was the start of the circle spinning creating different shapes
We created a sentance using motexts and different background effects, we also explored lighting effects and shadow effects in this session

Sara After Effects

Untitled from Yousuf Mohammed on Vimeo.

This is the animation I produed in Sara's workshop I chose the Arial font to make the animation on as it is a nice simple clean font, similar to what i want my animation to look like. I originally had 3 more scenes with more facts however I only had 10 seconds of run time so I chose the more aesthetic approach rather than factual. Overall I am very pleased with this animation and will use these skills in my move brief

These are some of the scenes I used and some that had to be missed out due to lack of run time, I chose a simple black and white colour scheme as I thought it would suit the style of animation

Again everything that is being animated seperatley had to be put on different layers and different documents, using the same document with multiple artboards does not work
